In this BSA series – “Why AI?” – enterprise software leaders explain in their own words how artificial intelligence (AI) is having a positive impact on individuals, businesses, and organizations worldwide. In this submission, Nicolas Sekkaki, Kyndryl’s Global Applications, Data and AI Practice Leader discusses Kyndryl’s AI-readiness program and comprehensive services and how AI can be leveraged to achieve its full potential.
1. Why AI?
Artificial intelligence, and specifically generative AI, is one of the most exciting technologies society has seen in a long time. When applied responsibly and leveraged to its full potential, the business impacts of AI for customers are immense. AI can drive productivity, increase efficiency and improve the customer and employee experience, all while supporting the business in achieving its goals – and that’s just the beginning.
As a managed services provider, Kyndryl sees AI as a multifaceted opportunity, and an accelerator for its advanced delivery initiative and alliances. In August 2023, Kyndryl launched an AI-readiness program within Kyndryl Consult, which provides customers with the end-to-end services to identify, develop, and deploy responsible, cost-effective, enterprise-grade AI solutions. Kyndryl has also expanded its relationships with Microsoft, AWS, and, most recently, Google Cloud to continue supporting customers on their AI journey.
2. Can you give an example?
As a company that has applied AI to its own systems and has supported several customers in leveraging AI to positively impact its business, Kyndryl is the ideal partner to provide AI services on mission-critical systems at scale.
Two examples. First, Kyndryl developed a system that uses AI to analyze a customer’s language then responds or automatically connects the customers to an appropriate operator. This system has improved customer experiences and reduced wait times by up to 50 percent. Second, Kyndryl leveraged its data and AI experience to develop and deploy an AI solution that reduced a customer’s carbon footprint and modernized its operations for more sustainable manufacturing. Kyndryl supplemented the customer’s quality assurance systems with AI and used computer vision modeling to automatically recognize errors, which increased throughput and reduced manual labor and wastage.
In addition to Kyndryl’s expertise in the data and AI space and comprehensive services, our AI-readiness program and partner ecosystem positions us well to identify use cases and develop and deploy AI solutions that align with customers’ business goals in a responsible and cost-effective manner.
3. Where can we learn more?
