The European Union’s Digital Decade Policy Programme has set ambitious goals to enhance the digital capabilities of small, medium, and large enterprises (SMEs). These include targets for the widespread adoption of cloud computing, big data, and AI technologies, which will require the successful integration of digital tools to support EU competitiveness and productivity.
Achieving these goals also requires robust support from European institutions, as a strong Digital Single Market and balanced digital policies are critical to advancing innovation and continuing to reinforce Europe’s digital leadership on a global scale. In addition, it is important to focus on implementing the many different legislative initiatives adopted in recent years for the digital economy.
As highlighted in the European Commission’s “Communication on Long-term Competitiveness of the EU,” digitalization is the backbone of future competitiveness. With this in mind, and as we prepare for a new political cycle in the European Union, BSA | The Software Alliance has compiled a series of recommendations, which focus on enterprise software and other digital technologies, and aim to ensure the EU’s continued economic competitiveness and growth:
Part I: The Key to a Successful European Digital Single Market
Part II: Protecting What Matters: European Economic Growth
Part III: Leading the Way: Europe’s Role in Shaping the Global Digital Future
Additionally, we have asked our EMEA members to share their perspectives on future opportunities.
Here is what they said: BSA EMEA Member Roundtable: What Do We Expect From the EU Commission’s New Term?
