The vast majority of c-suite technology and information officers say that investing in enterprise software and cloud computing is an urgent priority for their business in 2023.
A report from the CNBC Technology Executive Council indicates that chief information and chief technology officials at leading public and private organizations expect to continue investing in software and services that further their digital transformation.
An overwhelming 85 percent of companies surveyed by CNBC said that cloud computing and enterprise software will be “critically important” in the next 12 months. These products – among the many others supported by members of BSA | The Software Alliance – help to drive the digital transformation of businesses across every sector.
The CNBC survey also illustrated the importance of good policy for top information and technology leaders. Members of the council named privacy and data security as their top priorities for the new Congress in 2023. BSA has been a leading advocate for privacy legislation that establishes consumers’ rights in their personal data and the appropriate obligations for both the companies that control consumers’ data and the companies that process that data. (Here’s why that matters.)
Requirements for reporting cybersecurity incidents also ranked as a priority for the next Congress. As Inside Cybersecurity reported in December, BSA urged rulemakers at CISA to focus those reporting requirements to the most significant cyber incidents so as to not undermine an organization’s actual response to a cybersecurity incident.
The bottom line? Enterprise software companies are at the vanguard of serving top information and technology needs for premiere businesses and organizations, and BSA is leading on the top policy issues for the software industry and the broader economy.
