BSA | The Software Alliance led a conversation about the importance of cybersecurity in construction at the industry’s largest trade show this week in Las Vegas.
BSA and cybersecurity experts from across the software and construction industries spoke to building industry leaders at CONEXPO-CON/AGG about how digital tools are reshaping construction, how to better understand information security risks from the job site to the front office, and how to prepare their teams or organizations to handle cybersecurity.
“Cybersecurity affects every industry, especially sectors like construction that are becoming increasingly connected using digital tools,” said BSA Director of Policy Henry. “With the digital transformation of the building industries on display at CONEXPO-CON/AGG this week, I hope our panel of experts helped to provide some concrete ways in which construction and manufacturing professionals can be increasingly cyber-ready.”
Joining the discussion were experts from enterprise software companies, equipment manufacturers exhibiting at CONEXPO, and industries that play a critical role in supporting connected construction sites.
- Ryan Anderson, Director of CE Heavy Product Portfolio and Core Components at Case and New Holland Construction Equipment
- Theresa Lanowitz, Head of Cybersecurity Evangelism at AT&T
- Bill McNamara, Sr. Director of Product Management at Bentley Systems
- Alli Scott, Director of Customer Experience & Industry Advocacy for Autodesk
CONEXPO is the construction industry’s largest trade show, which brings together over 130,000 industry leaders across construction, manufacturing, and supporting industries every three years for the marquee gathering in Las Vegas.
The session builds on recent work by the Digital Transformation Network, an initiative of BSA, to highlight the impact of software in a variety of industries. The DTN’s most recent report showcased how enterprise software tools have made the building industries safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. BSA took that message to Capitol Hill during a successful briefing featuring BSA CEO Victoria Espinel and House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves earlier this month. Check out a recap from that briefing here.
